Tip: The Spring Slim Down

Tip

Spring is in the air... I think. It's the in between season where one day we get sunshine and the next hail (or snow, depending on who you talk to). We've just survived (another) long winter and the warm, sunny days are so close we can almost smell them.

It is times such as these that I start dreaming of summer dresses. Anyone else? Maybe you don't wear dresses and instead you dream of flip-flops? All good. In my down time perhaps I go online and skim my favorite clothing stores. Perhaps I gobble up trend reports and drool over the latest sandals. Perhaps I take heed of my style forecasters' words and get excited about the latest color palette for this season. Some people get excited about March Madness. Others get excited about threads.

But before we launch into a spending frenzy, I have a tip to consider:

  • Take stock of your winter wardrobe.

  • Get real honest about what you didn't touch and/ hardly wore this passed year.

  • Donate it.

I love clothes but I do not love to accumulate. Guys, let's make room for those summer dresses! That sweater that you loved on the rack, but added ten pounds to your adorable frame? GET RID OF IT. Why do we hold on to things that a) we do not wear or b) do not make us feel like a million bucks?!

Like my five-year-old niece likes to remind me: let it go.
